Caucasian fine Shirvan / Erivan rug (122 x 100cm)

This rug has relatively long pile for such a fine rug. Unusual since within the Soviet period when this rug was made wool quality deteriorated with standardisation of economies however this rug exhibits a lustrous wool not otherwise used in a centralised ecomomy quality so it would appear cottage industry for local or personal use as also the slight imperfection would suggest.

Condition is excellent
